rePotme Orchid Potting Mix, Phalaenopsis Dark Classic Orchid Mix (Standard Bag) - Hand Blended in The USA

Good Stuff, Expensive
This substrate is very chunky and comes very dry and clean. It will not make a mess when repotting, and is probably one of the best options for plants that need a lot of aeration in their substrate. There is a tiny bit of sphagnum moss in this, but I don’t think it’s enough to make any noticeable difference tbh. It’s very sparse. But regardless, I like this. It’s very chunky and even though I haven’t had anything planted in it for more than a week, I can tell that it’s going to be very hard to overwater and it’s going to be highly aerated. If you want to have a little more water retention just buy a little block of sphagnum moss (a little block of that stuff creates a TON of wet moss), or if you want to fill in the open space between the chunks you could use some perlite, or even some Aroid mix. See my second picture for what the majority of this product looks like. It’s difficult to pot an orchid with this if you’ve never done it before. In hindsight I would say to wet this product first, so that it has some weight to it, which will help to keep the plant upright. Otherwise you’ll have to continuously hold the plant up or stake it to keep it upright will filling the pot. It’s extremely light and blocky when dry.So I like everything about this stuff, nothing I mentioned is a negative to me (just trying to be helpful by pointing it out everything I can think of), but there is one negative; it seems expensive for what you get. For the mini bag, I was able to repot two orchids from 4” pots to one of each 5” and 6” pots, but I had to use a bunch of sphagnum moss, perlite and even some of the drier material from my Aroid Mix to fill the pots. It wasn’t enough for the two pots alone, at $20. I’m guessing the mini bag would fill about 1-1.5 pots which are 5-6” typical height pots. If you have repot multiple plants or you’re using large pots, you’re going to need a lot more than just the 2 quart mini bag (a quart is about 1 liter, it’s a little less, but remember this is very chunky stuff so a volume measurement isn’t super helpful because you’re cramming it all together in a pot much more than it is when it’s sitting loosely in the bag).

Reviving orchids
rePotme Orchid Potting Mix, Phalaenopsis Dark Classic Orchid Mix (Mini Bag) - Hand Blended in The USAMy mother’s orchid plants are all more than ten years old and gradually the soil in the pots has eroded. The rePotme potting mix was the perfect way to supplement the diminishing potting mix in those pots. While it is a bit costly for a small amount, I did not need a large quantity and chose this brand for its quality. The mixture I received was very dry, so I mixed it with water and let it soak until moistened. It was definitely a good quality with no debris and lots of the expected ingredients. Topping off the existing soil has made her plants look better and they even seem to be having some new spurts of growth.

So far so good
I repotted my orchid with this mix about 2.5 weeks ago & the plant seems to be doing well. I researched this topic which led me to their website video. I was expecting the mix to be a bit moist but it was very dry - maybe because it was older (?) since I went through Amazon. Also there was very little of the "spongy" ingredient, much less than had been in the previous pot. Too early to give a 5 star rating.

Chunky
This is a very chunky, woody mix, my orchids are liking it and looking better everyday. There's a good amount in this bag and I had some leftover.

Very Chunky
This orchid mix is hard to fit between the roots. Almost all of it is large pieces and very little moss. No small pieces to fill in some of the gaps, which are many with such large pieces. Mix was very dry (not moist), contrary to a recommendation from MissOrchidGirl.

This is the best orchid medium ever.
Repot Me orchid medium is the best I've used. I did an experiment and potted 2 of my orchids in Repot Me medium and 2 others in the so called "orchid soil" by another well known brand. The 2 orchids I planted in the Repot Me medium are healthy and starting to bloom. When I first purchased this brand, I thought it was pricey but took the chance. I am so glad I did. I have since purchased more soil for my 2 struggling orchids. Oh yeah...there orchid pots are the best. They drain quickly and you can see the roots. I am so pleased to have found this company. Quick shipping, well packed and I would like to give a shout out to The Orchid Girl. This is how I found Repotme.com. both are amazing. I am new to orchids and this company has everything you need.

Great! Orchid Medium!
Excellent product. Very thick, and held up well so far. I would purchase this again. For a single orchid this size bag was great! Good value for the money !

Wait for boarders between Canada & USA to open & order directly from rePotme ‘s Canadian site.
I love the product itself but the seller charges way more then the rePot me company. I bought mini bag for $32.08 & price at rePotme is $14.95 . I’m in Canada so can’t get orchid mix from rePotme right now because of COVID. I thought the bag I was buying was medium sized. This is not a bad review because I should have read more carefully before ordering..I just don’t appreciate paying more then double for small bag.

Too expensive considering the amount you receive. Expected the package to be larger.
Big price for small product volume
