a simple solution to keeping the trickle charger stable ,works a treat

I am not very sure why a piece of silicon is 1/5th the price of the charger and for some other models, the covers are almost 40% of the price of charger !! There's nothing extraordinary about these. Only covers the edges. Just ok in my opinion, value for money is really poor.

Fits well on unit, Stop’s the charger from slipping around,will I’m sure stop damage around corners if dropped, I do like it, I have bought 2 on separate occasionsBUT….for me , these are vastly overpriced for what they are, I’m sure the package costs as much to produce and ship as the protector ……,would have expected this to be supplied with the charger, or the charger having had I’d as part of casing during manufacture….profiteering by CETK, just like stores who sell cables for printers etc which cost very little to produce in the Far East

In arriving at my final rating I have considered a star for each of Design, Functionality, Fit, Quality and Value. I have no qualms about the fit and the quality and I'm happy to award a star for each.The design, however, leaves significant areas of the unit exposed to potential damage, but it's hard to imagine how this can be improved upon without compromising accessibility and cooling. My own CTEK 10ah unit has been connected for about 18 months to my classic car battery and it has remained cool at all times, so I wouldn't want to jeopardise this. So perhaps it's a little harsh to award only half a star here, but it's no bad thing to keep those CTEK engineers' brains in gear on this one.Functionality I feel has been compromised to some extent by the design. Whilst I believe the unit would probably survive intact and without a scratch if it fell onto a hard, flat surface, I think it may fare less well if it was to be knocked into an engine bay or into a box of nuts and bolts, although I don't intend to put it to the test in either of these situations. But the grip is superb and may well avoid a few of the skirmishes that would otherwise have occurred, so half a star here is possibly a little underrated but I don't feel I can give it a full star.And finally, value. What can I say other than it is hideously expensive? In terms of potential loss of the unit without the bumper, then it is invaluable, but in terms of what you get for what you pay, it ain't impressive!And so, would I buy it? Well yes, I did, and I don't regret it even if just for the extra peace of mind it gives me, but I do think that in consideration of the cost of the CTEK 10ah, which is very expensive indeed, CTEK could well consider including the bumper 120 free of charge in the box, even if the overall price was to be increased by the manufacturing cost of the bumper. In my opinion it's an essential, not an accessory.

Great - albeit, expensive - for helping to protect my CTEK MXS7. 0 car battery charger from knocks and other minor accidents. I view my charger as an expensive piece of kit which I need to look after for it to last. This bumper surround goes some way to help achieve that

CTEK 56-915 Bumper, Silicone Rubber Protection, Compatible 3.8-MXS 5.0 and CT5 Series - expensive for what it is, but it gives your charger added protection when when in use. As it’s a custom protection for CTEK chargers the fit is excellent. This bumper case also gives greater stability on shiny surfaces.

It helps to protect the edges of the charger very well. The flat surfaces can still get damaged by banging them into corners of the engine bay and all other protruding objects but this is better than nothing. Not cheap but you'll know if you need this or not.
