Little Bear Boxed Set: Little Bear, Father Bear Comes Home, and Little Bear's Visit

Just speechless with how impressed I am with this purchase, three books with multiple stories inside those three books. I have Loved Little Beat since I was a kid and now my own kids love him and his Interesting Stories. I’m so great full to have found such a Nostalgic find for such an incredible price. Buy this for any Little Bear lover, and you will not be disappointed!

I love hearing my child read these books aloud to me. As a "Beginning Reading 1" set of "I Can Read" books, these books have words that are simple, yet they tell a sophisticated and engaging story. (According to the back of the front cover, Little Bear is the very first "I Can Read" book.) The chapters are 10-15 (well-spaced) pages long, and there are some pages that have only words and no illustration. Sometimes this is a bit daunting for my 5-year old, but he is a trooper and reads on through to the end of the chapter. He usually has questions or comments at the end, too. As an adult, I love the interaction between Little Bear and his parents, and I actually find each chapter, which is really a self-contained story, entertaining. The illustrations are classic, and while they are old-fashioned, this has never been a problem for my child. We've gotten to talk about old-style cars (That's like the one in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"!) and pedal sewing machines as a result. My son has many modern and contemporary-looking books to choose from, too, yet he happily reads the classic Little Bear stories.

My 2-year-old LOVES these books and will sit through several of the mini-stories. She engages with the characters in a special way because she also loves the Little Bear TV show, which has several of the same stories. Each of the 3 books has 4 interconnected stories that can be read alone or in sequence. They come in a slip-sleeve that holds all 3 books. We set this aside for travel, because it's too flimsy to hand over to little hands (and I was worried she'd damage the paperbacks trying to shove them in). I recommend these to anyone with a little kid who likes to read with their parents or is starting to read independently.

We bought this series as a Christmas gift for our 6-year-old great-niece. (Her uncle, our nephew, loved these books and we hope she will too.) The stories are simple, easy to understand, and and beautifully illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Little Bear's adventures with his various family members and friends are great fun, and teach important lessons without being preachy. I highly recommend them for beginning readers.

These are timeless stories that are enjoyable for kids and parents alike. Fun stories, endearing characters and lovely illustrations. My kids ask for these books over and over again.

Our copy was worn out years ago. I purchased this for a visit from my grandsons. I enjoyed revisiting these sweet stories and they enjoyed them too.

These were books I read to my chiildren when they were little. They were among our favourites, and we couldn't read one without reading the other two. A friend's child just celebrated his first birthday. This was the perfect gift for him.

I work in childcare and this set of books is not only familiar to me from my childhood, but a well loved set of stories for the children I care for.

This is a lovely book for children. My kids and I loved reading through. The illustrations of Sendak are as beautiful as ever.
